Abstract

The main objective of this work is to discuss about the separation of spaces by gender, which transforms women into passive subjects, inasmuch shut in the reproductive and family space. This passivity goes beyond the role that the woman plays in the family, but it is projected to her possibilities of transcending historically and to her role in the historiographical production. The work with testaments of women in Concepcion has allowed us to set the discussion about the historical passivity of women and tore signify the family space as a place from which the networks that sustain local social life are weaved, emphasizing the importance of women in the constitution of the family patrimonies and its circulation from the solidarity networks.. Not only their contributions to the marriage are considered but also their capacity to manage and increase the resources of the family.
